No, because where I lived they were all sap trees and when you cut them sap would run out. Well, as a kid I thought this was tree blood so I wouldn't cut into the bark in any way because I thought I was really hurting the tree.
I probably should have just said no. :)

When I was younger I carved "Spice girls suck" on the maple tree in our backyard. And I'm still trying to wash the sap off my hands!

No, but I had a boyfriend in Junior high school that put our names in a heart on a tree in his yard.
I don't like to hurt trees. I let someone else turn 'em into paper for me like a normal person!
