They switched her and it was REALLy obvious. Anyone know why the old on was replaced?

I was vex and perplexed by this myself and wondered what the heck happened.

"However the mystery surrounding this was explained in a documentary that was seen on the E! channel called The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air Story. It had candid interviews with former stars Will Smith,James Avery,Janet Hubert,Karyn Parsons,Tatyana Ali,Alfonzo Riberto,and Joesph Marcell.The situation had something to do with a contract dispute and there was tension of the set between Smith and Hubert during the shows' fourth season which in turn she was dropped from the cast and replaced in the shows' fifth season by actress Daphne Maxwell-Reid"

Haha, fresh prince is on right now with Janet Hubert as Vivian!
Basically, she left because of creative differences and issues in her contract. Now this was with Will Smith because by the time she left, he was executive producer and did so through the last season. She made Vivian Banks in my opinion.

In a nutshell, that's what happened when she left and Daphne Maxwell-Reid (Tim Reid's wife/dad on sister sister) came on in. She was good, but the original Vivian had attitude and spunk!

Some agruements flared I think that society wanted a "lighter" tone for Vivan. The show caved and let be. And My Wife and Kids...they needed an older Claire and and rates were low with the "old" beginning claire.

I used to wonder that. Maybe she was pregnant, had her baby and then didn't want to come back? I don't know. Also, why did they replace Claire on My Wife and Kids? I've only seen it a couple of times, but that didn't escape me.

It has been so long, but if my memory is working...I believe that she was very difficult to work with and left the show. I don't know if she left by mutual agreement, was fired or quit.
