It all depends on what work you want to do.
I know of many business owners that work from their home. Hairdressers, auto upholsters, sales people, accountants and just down the road from my house is a dental surgery.
So you can do all sorts of work from home.
I work online from home supporting my family of 5 and believe its the easiest way to make a living.
If you can find a way of making a dollar from something you love to do you will never have to work another day in your life.

Theres easy and theres worthwhile.
Worthwhile would be running a phone or computer based contact business.
You could try selling by phone. mail, internet and use a drop shipper to do the actual shipments.
To succeed, you need to find a niche and have a real interest in doing well and be prepared to put the time and effort in.
Other things that work from home - PR business, Accountant, Laundry, design based such as web design or graphic design.

Work for huge corporation which is making cost measurements by cutting off the expenses of office space. Usually, sales and marketing people have a better chance to have home office and only go to the office for meetings.

Dont put all your eggs in one basket. Ebay, Landscaping, pressure washing, home repairs, small engine repairs, gocarts, motorcycles and more. Mechanic skills stay with you. Web page design. Whats the easiest? Physically, Ebay. Mentally, landscaping.

Have you got any hobbies you can turn into a lucrative business.
There is loats of companys that emplo home workers just scout around. You could always sells sweets for me lol only joking but good luck

Then look in the real world .. all you will find here is criminals inventing better ways to take whatever money you already have...
The web is full of scams, con-artists and pyramid schemes ... anything honest is lost in the avalanche of spam.
