Suicide is Painless...It's the theme song for the movie MASH...In the Series they use a flute, sounds like someone is whistling the song during the opening credits.I have to add no one dies in the movie or the series accept the wounded from the war.The saddest song in the World is Amazing Grace ...which is being released as a movie in a week or two! That's a true story of a ships captain who is changed from a slave trader to a man lost at sea .Then buy an act of nature is lost at sea.And by a miracle he is the only one found at sea.He then changes his ways and finds God.And that's how Amazing Grace came to be...I'm not a religious person but it's a great story. Please don't be sad...Even someone like me can be loved one day.

Depressing songs? Well... i think tears in heaven is up there as a really sad song. same with unchained melody, that's more like a need of desperation. Um.. what about the John Lennon's imagine as well? That's a song which represents a sense of Hope.

You know: there are two Beatles songs that stand out for me as depressing. "My Guitar Gently Weeps" (would LOVE to hear someone make a re-do of it) and "A Day In The Life (she's run away from home)".
Those two do depressing for me....big time.
