First very very important! Turn on the hot steam vaporizer it makes 75% difference in breathing (get at Walmart less that $20. or borrow one!!)!! DO NOT GET YOUR SLEEPING AREA TO HOT! Germs like hot they hate cold they will die! That's why hospitals are so cold! You can bundle up with a heating pad or electric blanket! Use the Vick's under your nose and on chest too. Take Vitamin C, Zinc & garlic lots of it for a few days. You probably want to get the cold/flu PM gel caps Tylenol or generic will do. Pm will help you sleep, Am if you are going to work! Drink only Gatorade or water and I mean a lot!!! No Cokes or anything sugary or dark. No carbonated drinks at all! Only eat jello, chicken or beef broth if you eat. No solid stuff for now. It is still gonna take a few days. I can't stress enough the importance of the hot steam vaporizer!!!
HOPE YOU FEEL BETTER SOON!!!

Do you have extra pillows to prop you up more in bed? Or, do you have a recliner you could sleep in for a night or two? Do you also have a humidifier? That would help. Also, before going to bed, may I suggest you take a nice hot steamy shower? That can help loosen the congestion in your sinuses. YOu could possibly go to the local pharmacy, and ask the pharmacist what they would reccommend-based on if you are on regular meds you take daily or not. Something with antihistemine (sp?) can make you drowsy sleepy, not something to try driving somewhere on. Or, sudafed, it's one item that will help dry up your sinuses and not cause any drowsiness. Also, please drink lots of water, juces, like orang juice, etc. If this lasts and doesn't get any better within 3 weeks, or even two, please go see your dr. If you hear wheezing at all, go sooner-like asap. I wish you the best. Take care.

Some good advise on here. Garlic (raw and chewed) will go straight to you sinus and help clear them out and will help your cold pass quicker. Also, boil a pan of water, put a towel over your head and the bowl and breath the steam. Blow nose repeatedly. Try sleeping with your head slightly inclined. You can also get an irrigation syringe and squirt 1 cup warm water, teaspoon of salt, and a pinch of baking soda up each nostril, allowing your nose to drain into the sink.

Take 1000mg vitamin C for a start. Next, drink hot water slowly. It'll ease of all those mucus. Put a warm water bottle at your feet in bed. Well thats the conventional matter. For medical wise, go to the nearest pharmacy.
If all else fails, the best solution is exercise. With your husband or bf i mean =)

B W has it right. I use Zicam (zinc) once I feel a cold coming on. Not only does it have the ability to cut short your sick time but there's also some sort of antihistamine property to it. It's a gel that you can apply just inside your nostril and swab it just outside your nostril. Winning combo for me: Zicam (individually wrapped swabs preferably) + Cold-Eaze lozenges. I haven't been sick for more than a day in years.

thats for natural remidies but if you want to knock it off its feet instantly take get something from the chemist/drug store with sudaefadrin in it.

NyQuil. Dangerous stuff but it does the trick. Just don't plan anything till tomorrow afternoon. Start eating garlic or taking garlic pills. They clear up my colds fast.
