Is it possible to have 2 cars in two different states, i mean one in Seattle and another one in New York under your name? I currently live in Seattle and have my car there, but my parents are in New York so I want to buy a car there to use it every time I go visit which is very often. I’m not sure if i can register the car since i live in Seattle. Is it possible? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks!

check with the law in new york. probably not due to the fact that when you register a car you have to show proof of insurance and they always want the registration, insurance and your license to be in the same state. you might buy the new york car, put it in your parents name and you pay the difference in the cost of the insurance and all the other cost associated with owning the car. i do know you cannot hold a license in two states at one time legally

I am pretty sure you can. Your parents should be able to find out better details for you, as to what you need for NY's requirements.
