A sense of security. Women subconsciously will choose the male that is strong in character (so that she can't walk all over him), strong physically (as to produce healthy strong babies). This is all in the subconscious though. Outwardly, women are attracted to all those things you mentioned, though vulnerability would be last on the list. You may ask why a woman wouldn't want to walk all over her man? Because years down the road when she realizes that she is wearing the pants in the family, she will start to wish that she didn't and it will be the man's fault. Women are wierd because they are ruled by emotion. Go figure.

My lustful side wants a man with a broad,hairy chest & about 6'2",not musclebound,but well built & lean.Black or light brown hair,soft,kissable lips,& not a drinker or a smoker.
My moral side, just wants a nice guy who is respectful of me & doesn't drink or smoke,& can satisfy my emotional needs as well as physical.

I do not know what "girls" lust for because I am a woman, but anyway......
I fell in love with my husband because he is intelligent, gentle, kind, sweet, thoughtful, handsome, understanding, loving and on top of all that he is a feminist too.
I had dated so many macho guys who bragged about winning fights, so it was refreshing when he told me he had never been in a fight, and didn't believe in using violence unnecessarily.

look decent, be clean and have a good personality. which is to say - be who you are, you'll find a girl eventually.
if you're just asking because you're promiscuis or want to be seen as 'that really hot guy' that stuff doesnt last forever. but love can. im not saying flings are evil or something, just that being yourself gives way better results for good relationships.

I guess it just depends on the girl. But, yeah, all of that and more. Someone who is manly, but not macho. No jealousy.
If I had to pick one quality that you mentioned, I would say, emotional strength.

Honest, gentle, emotional strength, leader. And I got him, too! Plus he has muscles and he's handsome, and he still opens doors for me after almost eight years together.

Well, I have a weird obsession with hands.. ( good example, I dont like leonardo decaprio's hands. They are too much like a little boy.) I also like men who are protective but not insecure. Funny and quirky guys are always ok in my book. But I always look at their hands first.
