I am looking to find the amount of room for music, software, etc.
Not RAM

hello,

when you need to see the memory available you need to go to my computer. once your there, right click on the hard drive that you use in storing your music, software, etc. then, after that click properties and then you can see your free space there. it shows it in a pie graph. the memory you have left and the memory you already used up...

Go to www.TuffTEST-Lite 1.53 and download it---and follow the directions. If that doesn't do it, try the following:

Belarc Advisor v.7.0m
Dr. Hardware v2005 5.5.0e
MyPCinfo v1.9

All from PC World Magazine---and they know what they're talking about.

The above sites as is have probably since been upgraded from 2005, but these sites should send you on the proper way.

If not, where they state 2005, type in 2006 or 2007.

Go to My Computer and right-click on your C: drive, and go to Properties. It will tell you how large the drive is overall, how much space is currently being used, and how much is free.

open up My Computer and right click 'Local Disk (C:)'
a window will pop up. You will see how much memory you have left

right click on my computer and go to properties, and it will tell u like 504mb of ram, or however much u have.
