This was a new one on me...

The mission of the Department of the Treasury is to promote the conditions for prosperity and stability in the United States and encourage prosperity and stability in the rest of the world.

The rationale is to stop terrorism (but if the government wanted to stop terrorism, they would stop terrorizing), which means to me that the US government is paying the Saudi government to protect the US's oil interest. This administration (and many others before it) is all about greed.

They don't. The Saudi Emabssy protects itself. You are wrong, the US does not protect foreign embassies on US soil.
