I dropped a mobile in a mop bucket about 12 months ago (a brand new Motorola on payg). After taking it apart I also used my hairdryer to dry it out. I was advised to then leave it for 24 hours. The next day after putting it back together i charged the phone without actually switching it on. A couple of hours later the phone was working as good as new apart from the screen was still slightly steamed up. The phone was still working fine until I lost it 3 months ago.

Try taking it to bits (front/back cover off and battery out) then putting it in your airing cupboard for at least 24hrs. I've tried that twice after bad luck involving my phone and water and its worked both times. If it doesn't work then there is probably no hope for your phone.

I work for a leading network. Take it into your network's local store and they will send it off to Samsung for repair and offer you a loan phone in the process! Unless it's pay as you go and then you will have to sort your own temporary phone!

I used to work in a phone shop. There's not much you can do. One thing I would try would be to drop it into pure alcohol very quickly, but there really isn't much hope after so long. I'm sorry to say you will probably have to get a new one, and most warrenties won't cover water damage.

You can call your service provider or where you got your phone and see about getting a replacement. They may also be able to retrieve the phone numbers and other information that you have stored on your SIM card.
