I'm wondering about the song "Special Girl". It is on a few of the America CDs, but when searching for it, I would often come across Meatloaf as singing it. When listening to the song, it does sound somewhat like Meatloaf. Can anyone explain this? Thanks!

Different lyrics

Meatloaf:
Into each life a little sunlight wants to shine
Let me tell you fortune life that once was mine

Chorus:
She was a special girl
She meant the world to me
And I gave her everything

When I found her I'd been looking everywhere
And when I lost her, I was lost beyond despair

(chorus)

Dreams are hard to touch
Could it be I love her too much

(chorus)

Bottom line is she was fine in every way
And it's not with hesitation that I say

(chorus)

Dreams they come and go
But thoughts, like love, will always grow

America:

She was a special girl
She meant the world to me
I gave her everything

Dreams are hard to take (dreams are hard to take)
Could it be I loved her too much

Oo, a special girl
Oo, a special girl
She was a special girl

She was a special girl
She meant the world to me
I gave her everything

Bottom line is, she was fine in every way
And it's not with hesitation that I say

She was a special girl
She meant the world to me
And I gave her everything

Dreams they come and go (dreams they come and go)
But thoughts of her are like a floor show

Oo, a special girl
Oo, a special girl
She was a special girl

She was a special girl
She meant the world to me
I gave her everything

This sounds like a job for dedicated America fans. And I'll bet you'll find such who can help you by signing up (for free) as a fan member on their pretty cool website. One in, you can scan for messages by fans for any info on your question or ask fans for insight on getting the answer to your question.

And the site is pretty cool to check out and look around in. Here's the link: http://www.venturahighway.com/index.php?&MMN_position=1:1
