in the US theres some media for almost every political voice.
so of course theres some 'liberal media". however, the media that some extreme right-wingers are calling "liberal" is centrist by most demographic measures, and right-wing in some folks' opinion.
its a slippery topic because "liberal" and "conservative" don't really have any fixed definition, theyre just relative terms. So, if your views are extremely far right, you consider 95% of the rest of the population to the "left" of you, than you can refer to the manstream as "liberal media" and technically you're not lying.
I personally think the whole thing is silly and self-referential because the left-right scale isn't really true to fact. life and political views are more complex than that..
'liberals' and 'conservatives' are both dinosaurs .. and they couldn't die off soon enough to suit me..

Lets say that your in the room with four people, and all four people agree on a topic... you however don't agree, for whatever reason may it be financial, it goes against the grain, you just don't agree... What do you do? Will if your the Fox news network, you look at everyone else in the room and you decide for whatever reason, maybe its your ignorance, maybe its hard headiness, may be its arrogance, you decide to just give everyone the label X, and say "I don't have to listen or agree with anything you say, because you are X."
This is how Fox created the appearance of a liberal media.
say other wise, say that every facet of the media (outside of fox) is liberal and they all are wrongfully enforcing the liberal agenda... then pretend that you don't believe in a conspiracy theory.

It has been documented that reporters tend to be more politically liberal than conservative.
However, editors, advertisers, and publishers decide what gets printed, and they are a different storyl.
Vast fortunes are necessary to grow mass media, and a liberal mind is generally not focussed on amassing a vast fortune.

The liberal media is quite real. Multiple studies have shown that journalists are very far to the left of the American mainstream. Liberals hate Fox News for breaking their virtual monopoly on the flow of information.

There are some media outlets that are more liberal than others, and other media outlets are more conservative. In general, though, the media is mainstream. Their #1 job is to make money, period. If they were a liberal media, we would barely have heard the name "Monica Lewinsky." :-)
