It means NEW WORLD ORDER. It is in latin. It was printed on US currency because when the United States was foundered in 1776 the founding fathers invisioned a new world where all men would be equal. As in:
WE HOLD THESE TRUTHS TO BE SELF EVIDENT
THAT ALL MEN WERE CREATED EQUAL
AND ENDOWED BY THEIR CREATOR WITH CERTAIN RIGHTS
AMOUNG THEM - LIFE, LIBERTY AND THE PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS.
They invisioned a new world order of democracy and equality-of the dignity of man. The PYRAMID was meant to be on solid foundations and of true and ancient linniage. The ALL SEEING EYE was meant to be the eye of enlightenment and knowledge.
This is the official version anyway. However, there are some who say that the pyramid represents the art of the stonemason(the foundings of freemasonary, the eye represents big brother who watches us all the time and NOVUS ORDUM SECLURUM > THE NEW WORLD ORDER is a tyranical order they intented to bring in to lord it over humanity-the order of the anti christ.
It is true that many or most of the founding fathers were masons. It was the fashion of the enlightenment to be so . It represented the brotherhood of man. And also the connotations of such is that most of the founding fathers were of a more secret society known as the ILLUMINATI. However, the Illuminati was foundered by Adam Weisphelt on the 4th of July 1776 and was known originally as the ENLIGHTENED ONES. It only became the ILLUMINATI years later. So the conspiritist are way out with their facts and timelines.
You see in the 16th, 17th, 18th and 19th centuries, people illustrated and related to things classical and historical. People then were that way inclined. So it is no mystery that the US currency-foundered in the 18th century by 18th century people would have such as this. It might be possible that there is someting going on-but more likely it is the product of the people and the times. Hope this helps.

The official interpretation is that the pyramid represents strength and durability. It's incomplete because so is the work of building the nation. The eye in the triangle is the all-seeing eye of providence.
