I once read a book about children shrinking down to ant size and they go into the ant kingdom.?

I am looking for the name and author of this childrens book.
Has any one heard of it? It was read by my teacher in the 60's/

You may be thinking of City Under the Back Steps by Evelyn Sibley Lampman. In this book the children spend a year in the ant colony.
