If you are wanting to prove paternity, go to your local health department. They'll help you prove paternity by testing the alleged father if you tell them his name. If he is, in fact, the father, then he pays for the test along with support payments for the child. If he is not the father, then the State will pay for the test.

You are wrong Good_old. If you have a paternity test and it is negative to the alleged father then the person who requested it has to pay, I know from personal experience on this one. If you want to get a test done privately then it will cost about 100-500 dollars. Some hospitals will do it for free on the day the baby is born but after that they wont. Be careful and make sure you know who the father is before having the test done or else you might get stuck with paying it, and hospital tests are not always cheaper than private DNA companies.

I depends on whether you want a public spectacle made out of yourself. Talk shows will do it for free but if you are wanting private genetic testing done, consult your local free hospital for references.

The court bldg. especially if you know you're right.I think it's free if you're the one requesting it and it comes back positive,and the person in doubt will haf to pay the $500.00.
