she has been my friend for about two and a half years...and we have lots of memories...but she says she only wants to be friends.and i'm fine with that but what i don't understand is what she means by unconditional love...i don't know if it's like family type love or what...is there any way to tell

In my opinion I think that she loves you very much and she loves having u in her life as a friend a supporter, a rock and shoulder to lean on someone she can always call on when she needs someone and that's the kind of love she has for u, but who knows it might turn to be more than a friendly love.

She will love you no matter what you do. I have had a friend for 18 years, and at Christmas time, she gave me a gift, the name tag said, "from your friend for life". That is what the unconditional love thing means. Be happy that she feels that way about you, and take care of her.

I would say that it is similar to the way a family member loves you.
They love you for who you are what you do. They know you that you may have some distasteful habits, but they don't care. They support you in whatever you choose to do and they believe in you.
