DIATOMACEOUS EARTH: A Non Toxic Pesticide
In houses it can be used effectively to prevent the entry of certain insects such as earwigs, ants, and cockroaches, and to control these and others that are present in cupboards containing food, carpets, basements, attics, window ledges, pet areas (for fleas), etc. In all of these examples it is important to place a small amount of the powder in corners, cracks, crevices and other areas where insects might hide.

I don't know about cucumber, I used to use baking soda, ants seem to avoid it, and now I use a pre-wash spray that I bought online, eco-friendly, which is important because I have dogs and kids and I am a huge tree-hugger, recycler, and live near the ocean, and the ants are gone! You can email me for the website.

Ants become a nuisance when they enter homes. Instead of spending money on costly pest control, you can get rid of ants by removing the food source and using soap water.
