The repubs have sown the seeds of their own destruction. In an attempt to dominate, they have alienated the people themselves and caused the opposite of their intentions. It's fundamentally a flawed philosophy.

The seeds are planted and the Republicans are fertilizing them and watering them on a daily basis.
The problem is, though, that many of the poor and disenfranchised still somehow relate to the Reps....maybe they think that with hard work they will all be rich someday. (And take it from this hard worker, it "ain't necessarily so".)
We keep hearing from the Reps that if we'd only "work for a living" and "buy insurance" we would all be well-off. Very difficult when jobs are not to be had, and the few that are available do not pay enough to feed and shelter us.
I did not need to be converted, so, with me, you are preaching to the choir! But, I do see that tables will turn for many in the very near future. Maybe the Reps are too "cocky" about their position right now, because of their connection to the "decider", but soon he will not be there, and they'll have to "decide" for themselves. The Reps seem to think that a lot of minor issues can be blown up into "bridges" just by using those key words, like: family, morals, responsibility, etc. but it won't be long until people see through those to what really lies beneath, until they see that Reps have no exclusive ownership of those values.
If I were a Rep right now, I would start to rethink my condescending attitude.

You bring up a very good point. I have a few disagreements with the Republican party's core beliefs, but compromise them as the lesser of two evils. I'm not a registered Republican, but generally vote Republican. If it ever comes to the point where there doesn't seem a snowball's chance in hell for the Republican to win, I probably would have to consider voting for Democrat nominees who's values are generally more conservative over more liberal candidates.

I don't see the demo's party growing in size, only in desperation, I say that because even though, the demo's have the majority in both houses it's a slight lead, that will fizzle out when the people see, the demo's in all their glory, have no solutions, to our problems only complaints, about how bad everything is, and then it'll come back to them how full of crap the, democrats always were. actually it's a good thing for the republicans in hind sight. to of lost some seats every now and then the people need to be reminded how incompetent the democrats are when their in power, and as painful on everyone as it is to have these people in power any amount of time, two years are better than eight anytime!!!

I agree with your main point... but just to be clear -- there have been more registered Democrats than Republicans for many decades. The Republicans are just better funded (not suprising since they are the party of big business).

That's a good question sir
Yes,
It is never a good idea for a large division of rich and poor for eventually as in France the lower class just puts the king to the Gillotine thats a fact.
Accually if the president were republican he would not be spending which is the definition of higher taxes. He is just a con man so he wants to make it look like he is not costing you anything but he cost each one of us about 25000 dollers +
without really doing anything
I think they should not play dirty tricks with one another would be a good start
NO SILLY GAMES
NO MONKEY MAGIC

One would think so, but since the republicans seem to be only about protecting their best interest, its an unachievable ideal.
Which is good thing. The more they do, and dont do, the more people see how full of sh*t they are and what they really stand for.

Once again my brother you are trying to make sense out of all this nonsense. They are not trying to but yes that is the end result. The scary fact is that they are so arrogant as to believe that it wont make a difference, but more than likely it will result in our troops fighting in another civil war, but this one will be at home.

No. And even if you are correct, this isn't what's happening. The notion that somehow the "disenfranchised" somehow become "franchised," through government handouts is incredible!
Nobody ever got an even playing field out of socialism. It only looks good on paper.
And I know I've said this before, but the Democratic party must show the nation it has the right plan for the nation, and then Democrats will not have to worry about what is going on with the Republicans.
