Im not sexist & 22.
The thing is, I was watching television
and there were two ads that I had seen before,
but only now just wondered...
.... they were selling a product to women that
would "slow down the signs of aging"
and another to "hide gray" [hair, that is].

I don't think there have ever been any such advertisements
targeted at men. Why is that? Is it that men are just more attractive
as they age? & women are not? I don't know...Im trying to reason....

i understand what your saying.. my theory is there is more pressure on women to look a certian way. i personally dont mind aging. i mean i go grey i go grey that is the way i was ment to be. i get wrinkles... or not.. wont bother me... i believe every women should be proud of the way the look.. and shouldnt change thier looks no matter what .

There are a few things for men as well...Ive seen hair dye commercials for men..and also lets not forget all the hair restoration commercials aimed at balding men. Plenty of infomercials about having the "perfect 6 pack" .
I don't have a problem with getting older but as you age, visually your appearance changes. Some things you have control over ..some you don't. And lets face it..women have more physical attributes visually than men do.

I dunno...I see lots of ads for men at least for hair color, hair regrowth...among other ads for other problems that could be brought on by getting older... Although you are right that they don't seem to make the effort to put AGING into the concept of the ad... I guess society has just made women fear aging more and they use it to sell...

because, according to our society, all women are supposed to be young and beautiful forever, it seems like very few people appreciate age, wisdom, and the gray hair and wrinkles that come with it. we live in a youth-based economy and culture.

Women are more concerned with appearance. Most men don't really care that much.

Hair Color for Men, toupees, weaves.

I'd say it's because men are uglier at all ages, so we don't have to try as hard....
