I have a really close good friend of mine that I can share everything with tell me this....
I use the checking cervical position technique in means of determining ovulation but I keep track of it every day just to make note. and usually after I ovulate my cervix returns to a harder texture and is still a bit open and remains that way until I start my period. I noticed a few days maybe two or three after ovulation that my cervix is mushy like and sealed shut, my friend told me that a egg had fertilized and it was the cervix's way of keeping it in to see if it implants or not, well today I have been having a ton of cramping not normal pre period cramping though and usually after ovulation my cervical mucus stays abundant and now it is completely dry down there sometimes a bit watery but that is it. Could what my friend told me possibly be true?? I can't take a pregnancy test as it is too early for that I just want advice and opinions on what you think of my friends advise

If you quit stressing out you are more likely to get pregnant. Quit stressing.

this is true the cervix will stay shut and soft and it will also be very high and hard to reach when pregnant.. you may be able to take a test now .. however if implantation did not occur yet you will not get a positive .. i kno its hard but wait til your period is due b.c then you will get a real answer .. i kno first hand .. i just miscarried yesterday at 5 weeks .. so i kno how the cervix is and all that fun stuff =) .. make sure you do see a doctor asap .. and if you think you are prego .. go up to a wal mart and grab some prenatal vitamins until you get to a doctor and get a prescription .. aslo dont do nething stupid .. the implanation process is very touchy .. dont lift nething heavy .. take it easy for awhile you dont want to interupt this process .. b.c that is what i did i did not know i was prego. i went sleigh riding wrestled in the snow found oout i was pregnant the next day and miscarried three days later .. yesterday actually !!! congrats it def. sounds lik your going to be a mommy and im soo happy for you !!

Wow a little rude. But trying to answer your question, yes it is normal for your cervix to be "mushy like and sealed shut" if there is a fertilized egg. I think that you have a good chance of being pregnant. How long have you been checking your cervix? If you have been doing it for 3 months or more and never noticed this, then I say CONGRATS! Take a test as soon as you can and let us know.

If your cervix is closed there is indeed a good chance of pregnancy. You could be ovulating though but I've heard ( my husband said this actually and I've heard it from several other people) that the cervix becomes marshmallowy after you become pregnant. Wait until 4 days before your period is due and then test and if it's a negative wait around for your period and about 4 days after it's due test again.

I think their is merit to that. In the old days... women where checked for pregnancy by the cerivix color and texture. I totally could see that being true. Ever see the movie 'northern country'? The girl was really abused at work and treated humiliatingly. One of the things they did was do an internal exam to see if she was pregnant before hiring her. The uterus isn't bigger until 5 weeks as far as i know... so it had to be a cervix check.

I have to agree. I'm also confused by what you've said. I'm a mother of 2 & have been having my period for the last 15 years. I'd just wait & see what happens. If you're period is late, do the pregnancy test. I also have to agree with the first answer. If you keep stressing about getting pregnant & putting pressure on yourself it won't happen. This was what I did trying to have my first child. It took me 5 years to conceive from being stressed & having my family put pressure on me to have a baby.

Yes it is completely true. I know several women that are ATTC and they check their cervical positioning daily. Good luck and here's some sticky baby dust to you! ********
