Fundie is a pejorative term for Fundamentalist Christians and is part of United States slang. It is intentionally derogatory, and is used most commonly by those opposed to the Religious Right movement.

I think in context to what area we are in it means a fundamentalist Christian. The term was invented in the 19thC in the US. After the War of Independence - Britain tried to blockade many goods being imported into the US and this meant a lot of books. For a whole generation the only book many had ever read was the Bible- this meant that because the had no other literature (inc Shakespeare etc.) they began to have a VERY simplistic and literal view of the Bible. They simply had no idea what metaphor, symbolism, allegory, etc. meant. This came down the generations to modern times and is why we now have so many Christians with such a simplistic, literal and crude understanding of theology that seems so different to the old denominations...

A "fundie" is a godbot who wants to see fun die, a fundamentally retarded christianazi who wants to tell other people how to live while enjoying all the things that (they claim) you and I are going to hell for.

Examples:

- Ted Haggard (gay and a methhead)
- Pat Robertson (does business with war criminals in blood diamond mines, actively promotes the murder of democratically elected leaders of other countries)
- Jerry Falwell (kept blacks out of churches until he was sued, called Martin Luther King Jr. a "communist)
- Jimmy Swaggart (paid a prositute for sex, asked if the prostitute's nine year old daughter could join in)
- Jim Bakker (gay sex in a sauna, misappropriating cult funds for personal use)
- Peter Popoff (known fraud for "faith healing" using 'marks' in the audience)

And that's only a fraction of the list.
