I have a really close good friend of mine that I can share everything with tell me this....
I use the checking cervical position technique in means of determining ovulation but I keep track of it every day just to make note. and usually after I ovulate my cervix returns to a harder texture and is still a bit open and remains that way until I start my period. I noticed a few days maybe two or three after ovulation that my cervix is mushy like and sealed shut, my friend told me that a egg had fertilized and it was the cervix's way of keeping it in to see if it implants or not, well today I have been having a ton of cramping not normal pre period cramping though and usually after ovulation my cervical mucus stays abundant and now it is completely dry down there sometimes a bit watery but that is it. Could what my friend told me possibly be true?? I can't take a pregnancy test as it is too early for that I just want advice and opinions on what you think of my friends advise

WOW, is all I have to say to the first person who answered. What the hell is wrong with people these days seriously get a life women and stop being so damn judgmental. UGH that is by far the most annoying thing in this world is rude, ignorant people such as that women who answered first. Get a life and try being nice for a change.

As for your question I have heard mixed things about the whole cervical position theory but mostly I have heard that you really can't determine pregnancy this early on especially since implantation may not have occurred yet. Although seeing as you are experiencing some different things this time around it sounds hopeful for you. I really wish I could give you better advise on this but I myself am not one hundred percent aware of this subject. Give it some time sweety and try to think happy implantation thoughts ;) Good luck to you and sending tons of baby dust to you and your HUSBAND seeing as the women in the first answer decided to judge you. GOOD LUCK AGAIN

Yes, you can cramp and bleed when you are implanting but I think if your firend is not a OBGYN Doctor, an OBGYN Nurse or a Midwife or even a biologist you should take her advice with a grain of salt. Everyone is different to an extent. I cramp up when I do ovulate. Yippy for me cramps twice a month! But I went to my doctor with that problem and she checked me out and said that was normal too.
If you have a problem, see a doctor. Sheesh, what if you have some sort of infection because you keep poking around in there? I could happen. You don't know. That's why you are asking here.

Do yourself a favor. For your peace of mind. See a doctor.

Oh and PS
I thought that woman's comments were rude and misplaced too! I sure sounds to me that if you are tracking your ovulation so closely then you do want a child which means a "Wanted" pregnancy. Sheesh! People can be so judgemental and snippy!

I'm sorry, I don't know anything about what you're describing (you describe it well, just never heard of it) but I just had to reply to the other girl's comment:

Excuse me, where do you come off calling someone selfish for not wanting a child at the moment? Perhaps she was even testing for ovulation to decide WHEN to have sex to create a child. There are many reasons couples don't have children, not just because they are too selfish to love another human being, are too busy to put up with a baby, or any other situtation I'm sure goes through your closed mind.

Don't throw stones until you know the full story. Whether she's married or not, trying for a child or using the rhythmn method, she's a human being. She came here asking for help, not ridicule.

Sorry about that. I just found it very ignorant.
I hope you get answers to this question!

The female body can be weird. I think you just need to wait and see what happens over the next 2 weeks. It sounds like ovulation. Your friend's idea seems very strange.

Im not too sure sorry but just wanted to say this lady was horribly rude. She is probably traumatized from something that happened to her at a young age.

maybe. try to observe it if it's true. cramping is normal. dry mucus may mean you're not fertile during these days.

you seem to have alot of time on your hands.
use a condom. buy a pregnancy kit from your local drugstore as they are as effective as anything in a hospital or doctor's office.
grow up and realize that an unwanted pregnancy is a very selfish thing.
