It depends on what you are asking, and if you really mean fragile rather than rigid.

If you are asking if the ecosystem (the life that is on the earth) is fragil then yes, yes it is.
If you are asking is the earth (the stuff below our feet) is fragile then no, no its not.
If you are asking if the earth is rigid, and breaks when the lithosphere moves brecause it is rigid. Then yes, yes it is rigid.

Naw, I think it is fragile. At a Jewish wedding the bride and groom break glass to remind them of how fragile life is, not too take it too lightly.

I think the more valuable something is in terms of it's complexity and beauty, the more fragile it becomes. A big dull boring piece of glass is hard to break compared to a beautiful vase.

Life does hang on a balance and it's too easy to break it. However, life's systems do have a benign force that works to restore the balance and create homeostasis. If you destroy a forest or ecosytem or community, it's only a matter of time before nature restores itself.

nothing on earth is fragile, anyone that says it is.. is just a wacko..

look around... life is the strongest thing around.. we humans could burn all the forest down.. we could dumped all the oil into the sea.. set off every nuke/ bio / chemical weopon we had... really really try and destroy life.. and we would fail.. life would just wait us out and start a new... it is just that way,,, we are always finding out that life can live in place it should not be able to .. like at the bottom of the ocean in -30 degree water with no light... or 300 miles under the ground with little to no food... the earth can not be destroyed... it is a none factor... life can not be stopped.. only slowed down.. if life was sooooo fragile... no life would exsist at all.. it would have died off as soon as something bad happened.. a hurricane... sickness... whatever....

remember this... earth will change.. it is not static..( static = stay the same ) the temp will get hotter... it will get colder.. we will hit a new ice age... and one day as it has happened in the past earth will lose its very atmosphere... the earth will die and be re-born.. and start again... nothing you can do to change it or stop it... it is like your body... it will grow.. it will die.... just will nothing you can do about it

Some dude is correct. It's not fragile. Some loony paranoid phobics think it is but that doesn't make it so.
