My girlfriend is about a month to a month and a half pregnant and she really doesn't have much of an appetite at all. Some days she isn't hungry all day. Is this normal?

I should of mentioned she's had no morning sickness whatsoever. She hasn't been sick at all. She finds this really odd because she has had two other children and was very sick by this time(even earlier) in her other pregnancys.

Pregnancy can be funny. Even if she doesn't feel sick, she might feel 'blah'. Food just isn't interesting her, nothing sounds good.. ya know? I'm sure she's fine. Just make sure she does eat SOMETHING, even if she has to force a little something down. Doesn't have to be a lot, just little snacks here and there. Her appetite will pick back up.

It is very possible, especially if she is dealing with nausea off and on during the day. "morning sickness" - which can occur any or all of the 24 hrs of a day - tends to leave about the end of the 3rd month of the pregnancy. And then she will likely be ravenously hungry. The rapid hormone and other chemical changes in her body can be behind many variances in her physical, emotional and psychological systems.

Yes it is normal. She still needs to be getting liquids. Tell her to try very small, light meals. Soups with saltine crackers, toast, applesauce, or cereal. If her nausea is making her go for days without eating, she needs to be seen by a Doctor. If she is only 4-6 weeks along she probably hasn't been to an obstetrician yet, so take her to the ER. Her nutrition is essential for her and her baby's health. You sound like you are a very caring person. You are going to be a good dad!

I'm 18 weeks pregnant & JUST got an appetite. Don't worry. The baby takes what he/she needs from mom. I didn't have any real sickness either....if it doesn't pass, then I'd get worried. But as long as she forces food in & stays hydrated she'll be ok. just make sure she eats SOMETHING.

it might be because she's nauseous/feeling morning sickness. There are ways to deal with the nautiousness of pregnancy, just do a goodle search about "morning sickness." make sure she eats, because it's very important for the baby's health, even if she has to force herself!

every pregnancy is different. Digestion slows at this part of pregnancy to conserve nutrients. Maybe that is why she is not hungry yet.
