Since I have a restless brain I've had to train it. I stopped reading at night. I stopped learning at night, I made sure my days events were in order... Holding no grudges, no anxiety and finish what I can and not sweat over what I can't.
Then when I lay my head on my pillow. I turn on my TV and let late night cartoons relax me into a happy disposition as I fall asleep. Believe it or not I don't have anxious bad dreams any more of unresolved issues. And I sleep rather well now.

I am thankful for a warm bed, food, and a roof over my head first of all. After that, I go over the day's events and think about what is coming tomorrow. Then I say a short prayer for my friend's daughter who has cancer, a co-worker who also has cancer, my son who has some health concerns, and everyone else who is suffering. I am not a super religious person but I do believe you should remember to be thankful what what you do have and remember those less fortunate.

I try to clear my mind of anything that would make my mind wander about what I did in that day and what I will do the next. I never go to bed before I'm sleepy, and I watch Craig Fergusson to have a laugh before I get to bed so my mind is clear of stress. It takes only a few minutes for me to fall asleep. My secret is to not think about anything in particular.

I try to remember the dreams I had the night before. It puts me into the relaxed state I was in when I was last dreaming. Eventually the ideas in my head start to break up and become random, and zzzzz...

Hmm. I checklist everything in my head that went down that day. I check over my homework mentally and if I went shopping or something I go over the things I bought or something. I basically just relive my day in my head.
