We want to visit the Silverton hotel in Las Vegas?

This May we are staying at the Mirage. We want to visit the Bass Pro Shop and Silverton Casino. We are not going to rent a car, and a cab would be expensive, is there another way to get there.

Silverton has a free shuttle that leaves from the Forum Shops at Caesars Palace. You catch the shuttle near the lower level valet. The shuttle picks up every 2 hours from 10:20am until 10:20pm.

The other way is to catch the Deuce(bus) take it to the SSTT , transfer to the #117 LV Blvd S bus. This bus makes a stop at Silverton. It will cost you $5 for a 24 hour pass to take the bus out and back.

I rent a car every time I go. An economy car is only 16-18 dollars/day with unlimited mileage and it gives you the ability to come and go on your schedule, not the bus and all the stops and the jerk that is most certain to sit with you and talk about all their problems, or worse, how great they are. You can't get a round trip on a cab for that.

Why anybody would want to suffer through public transportation beats me. Your staying at the MGM so you aren't be cheap and you must have a credit card, otherwise you would stay at a cheap hotel off the strip. Why so firm against a rent car?

You should at least look into it. I use ace & enterprise. Free shuttle to/from airport. The lot attendant also gives me free upgrades, so my 18.00 car is a convertable with GPS. Then again, they know me and I tip them 10.00 when they hand me the keys. Pretty cheap for a car that should rent for 50.00/day!
