Do a home pregnancy test. You can still get pregnant even though you got your tubes tied.

How long have your tubes been tied? It can take a while for your system to regulate after the surgery.

It is possible to get pregnant after your tubes are tied, but it doesn't happen all that frequently. If you suspect you might be pregnant, take a pregnancy test and see your doctor.

It is also possible that your hormones are out of whack- that can cause your periods to be delayed.

My gyn told me that there are side-effects to tubal ligations that few doctors tell you about and they include things like changes in ovulation which can affect period frequency.

If you are in your late 30s or older you could be experiencing the first signs of peri-menopause at which time your periods become less consistent. This is the stage before menopause. Many people believe this doesn't happen until you're in your 50s, but for many women the first signs start in your late 30s, although it may still be years before you completely stop menstruating.

Take a pregnancy test and then go see your doctor no matter what the results. If you are not pregnant there may be something wrong. If you are you still need care.
