there is a rule that a coach cannot be the coach in an all-star game two years in a row, so that is why detroits flip saunders coach was exluded this year, and they choose the coaches a few weeks before the all-star game and at that time the best records in the east and west were phoenix and the wizards.

You're right. However there are also limits as to allowing repeat coaches. Avery Johnson already coached the All Star Game last year, that makes him ineligible this year.

al jefferson is listed as a coach and only one middle is picked out of the reserve and that i assume shaq have been given it over him. its a count of them choosing the two shaq bynum or jefferson for the lower back up spot
