tell me, what's the difference between seized or detained

seized means that they take it for good no questions asked, and detained means that they are holding it until they investigate the situation, which could lead into it being seized! At least this is what i think it is!

seized is in custody and you cannot get it back

detained you may be able to retrieve ,
if you come up with the correct paper work.

Seized is "taken" away.
Detained is "held" for the person.
