That depends on where you live or where you are when you break down. I live outside
Houston, Tx and they now have an ordinance to protect the driver. That means they tow it almost immediately. No choice. Run out of gas? Have a flat? Whatever?! You get towed and it cost you about $150 for the privilege of being safe. Wonder why I do not go to Houston very often?

here in oklahoma they just leave them there. Might as well, we got the worst roads in the country. Iraq has better roads an bridges.
