This is normal, you are not rotating your child through sleep positions enough (probably because this is the way you've been told to do it to prevent SIDS) - however, this causes flat head. If it is already noticeable, go to the doc ASAP, your little girl might just very well end up in a soft helmet to put her skull back to normal, otherwise, it will not correct itself. It can take a while to correct, but its not a permanent state. Just makes me so mad that they don't advise of this before they tell you to always put the child down the same way... poor parents end up thinking they harmed their children!

A baby's skull bones are still pretty soft; if your baby sleeps on one side of her head consistently, that side of her skull will be flatter (and the other side more round) because of the constant pressure. To correct it, when she sleeps simply turn her head so it's resting on the other (not flat) side. I did this weekly and my son's head has a nice, even shape to it.

The bones are still growing and moving, but it is most probably due to your baby sleeping on that side. If your baby will sleep on the other side or on her back you could try that. Overtime it will correct itself. Once your baby is older and able to move more freely in bed this will no longer be a problem.

That's correct until her skull is done growing and the plates fuse her skull shape will continue to evolve. Speak to your doctor if there are any major abnormalities.

does it look flat on that side of the head, cause that is from the baby sleeping on that side. just adjust her to sleep on both sides equally, and talk to the dr when you can
