what Dkrgrand said (top). That is exactly what it is. Heres some more. After the Reproductive Cell goes through Mitosis, it creates 2 daughter cells. The daughter cells are completely identical. The Daughter cells then go through meiosis which creates Sex Cells. The Sex Cells have half the original amount of chromosomes

Mitosis results in cells that are identical to the parent cell.
Meiosis results in cells with 1/2 the genetic material than the parent cell. i.e. reproductive cells
