how come it seems like the richest people in the world are athiest? maybe they know something we dont?

I'm not sure it is true that the richest people in the world are atheists. I just went through the Forbes list of the top 15, and the only admitted atheist (apparently) on the list was Bill Gates. I couldn't find religions for some, which isn't surprising, since not everyone in the public eye thinks it is a good idea to trumpet personal beliefs, but when I Googled many of them, religions (from Islam to Presbyterian to Judaism) came up.

and as head of this organization one might even argue that the pope was the richest individual in the world!

It seems to me that their greed is just a love of money, instead of a love of God, which will ultimately not do you a bit of good.
Well I thought I'd touch on the 10% thing... our church pays 10% tithing which helps further God's work here on Earth in a lot of ways.

the bible says you cannot worship two gods either you worship god or you worship money remember money cannot buy your way into heaven and you cannot take the money with you when you die. see how all these rich movie stars are always unhappy just look @ Brittany Spears she is so unhappy that she sheved her head bald. Money is a tool and only a tool.

They have come to the realization that they would rather serve themselves than to serve and worship GOD.
