Hello! I dunno about others but I started sendin' my little one to a home run creche when he started walking at about 11 months. Some may say too young but by Gods grace he'z gonna be 4 now and can already write some alphabets, recognize alphabets, memorize poems, et al... The right early development worked for me... Best of luck to you!

Well I have my own opinion on this matter. In fact I tell it to anyone that will listen. Since I have your ear here it is.

I think that boys shouldn't start school until they are at least 8 years of age, even 10. My reason for this is that boys just aren't ready to learn like little girls are. Boys like to be out with their days getting all dirty and learning about the practical things in life. Things that only a dad can teach them.

State law here states that children do not have to start school until they are six. I think that is better than five. Especially if they can be with their moms or dads. I think school can be a scary thing for tiny ones, and separations isn't all that great for tiny ones at that age.

They can socialize with children in their church, or at the neighborhood playground. Or on PlayDates at each others homes. My favorite times were when my brothers and sisters were all home. On weekends my cousins would come over and we'd play til dark or even after dark. Yes I was fortunate enough to not live in the city. But I don't think that would have stopped us.

Just a few of my opinions and I am opinionated. LOL

There is no single answer for this question. A lot of research has been done by great psychologist such as Pioget and each child develops at his or her own pace. There are many more factors besides age that influence the probability of success in a beginning student. Parent involvement and the fostering of the natural curiosity of the young child are two of the biggest. We use age because it is the easiest to measure and does give us a ball park figure of an expected maturity and development level.

I think the best age for them to start out would be around 3 years old and that would be a nursery care so the children can start to learn how to socialize with other children and get used to not having you (the parent) around for a good amount of time.

When tehy are 4 you can start them off at pre-school and 5 kindergarten.

I started preschool when I was three, which was considered to be a year early. I'm currently in the top 20 of high school. So anywhere between 3-5 for starting would be good.

I know this doesn't help, but I sincerely believe it depends on the child, and the living situation.
