There was this girl that does tanning, when I saw her up close there was wrinkles in her face. She is 18 that is way to young. They look so fry or some look like umpa lumpas. Don't they know that they look beautiful with there regular skin?

They do it because of vanity and ignorance. They think they look better tan than not and do not care about the consequences. Who cares if they look 50 when they're only 40. or maybe they think cancerous moles will be the new great thing

Tanning gives them a healthy glow and its a "sign" that they are healthy and working out. Not that they don't work out or exercise, they do. They could be tanning because they just dont get the nice glowing skin just by working out. Thats why they go tanning. No one wants to look lifeless and pale when they are actually healthy and young.

I admit I like to tan, it just makes my skin look good, but I do take breaks and I don't do it to a point it looks fake. I just like some color. But I can see how it can be addictive, especially in the summer. Thats not good.

Its funny isn't it? In South Asian countries, women use lightening creams to make their skin fairer, while in Northern countries, women try to tan to make their skin look darker.
People are funny lol.
Either way, tanning is dangerous, and it causes premature aging and skin cancer...especially in people with light hair, fair skin, and blue/green eyes... :P according to statistics...
So slap on the sun screen, and stay pasty LOL

It's not only American girls whom like to tan, yes they do it more than other "ethnic groups. I really think that they do it because ...they don't like themselves and they don't care. stop and think about the danger that they expose their body's while tanning. " skin cancer" that will show them to appreciate and to be proud of their skin color. Nothing wrong being a little lighter than others.

That is so sweet foreign guy, thank you , on behalf of all american women, they tan because they will do anything to feel pretty, so if you get an american girl, make her feel beautiful, she'll quit.

I think they do it because of the trend and because I guess they like to do it. I agree with you though. I love fair skin on caucasians the best.

Because they are young and naive, they think they are immortal and don't believe that premature ageing or skin cancer will ever happen to them. They'll learn soon enough............

well they want to look beautiful and its the media that is telling these girls that everyone should look a certain way. and thats what she is trying to accomplish.
