My good friend wants me to be a bass player in our band. The only problem is I don't own a bass or really know how to play one.
I can however sing better than our current singer who sucks!
But, we can't kick our singer out of our band because we need some of his recording equipment.
I've asked to change spots with the singer, but it hasn't worked out.
I can't afford to buy a bass but I have a Mic and amp to sing with.
What on Earth should I do.

I do know I can sing really well though.
But there is a problem.
We already have a singer and HE SUCKS!!!
I have asked to change spots with our singer but things aren't looking up. We can't kick him out because we need some of his equipment.
I don't want to dissapoint my friends but being a bass player just aint my calling.
Any suggestions?

Follow your gut on this - if you don't want to play bass, don't. If you're kinda "meh, whatever" about it give it a try for a bit. But above all, trust your gut.

Your strength is your voice, and you should concentrate on that. If the band that wants you can't manage to get you in, find another band or create your own.

Find out if the singer of the band can do something else... explore what he subconsciously does when listening to good music. Does he drum his fingers and tap his foot? Etc.
