if you have a "BCD to 7 segment decoder" IC installed, it pretty easy, just write out the number on the port its hooked up to. it will be a 4 bit number, so you need to know what pins it connected to (PX.0 - PX.3 or PX.4 - PX.7). Without the decoder IC, you need to look at the spec sheet for the display and see what pin goes to what LED, then, for example, lets say a 1 needs pins 1 and 2 to be high and the rest low, you just set the bits attached to pin 1 and 2, and clear the rest.

Sorry, I dont know the actual pins on the display off the top of my head.
