Oh, what a lovely question! My first (most memorable) visit to a garden was when I was 14 and we lived in New Zealand. There were roses in bloom for acres and acres (ok, hectares, there) but what fascinated me the most was simply the interaction between the gardeners and the plants. Obviously I had seen gardens before, and had even had my own garden plot since I was about 7 years old. But this was different. This was amazing. This was poetry in the soil and the leaf and the bloom and the scent of all of it combined.

Thank you for the walk down memory lane.
Happy Gardening!

I wouldn't call this a "visit" to a garden but it"s my first real experience with planting one! I was newly married and my husband had been raised by grandparent's who always planted a veg. garden so I wanted to plant one also and asked him what to do- He told me to go to the Gardening Store and buy 6 tomatoe plants-so I did- I didn't realize that they came six to a box so i came home with 36 tomatoe plants!!!Needless to say-he made me take some back- so my first feeling was embarrassing!!!
