Don't believe me if you don't want to. But I'm a shaman so I've seen things worse than the demon that you described before. I even talked to it.
P.S: In case you don't know,a shaman means a person who's born naturally to be able to see evil spirits.

Both me and my older sister have encountered some odd things in our lives. My older sis was more the one who got into church and religion, so her experience is more relevant here. She told me on several occasions that she had seen demons cast out of people at various evangelical churches when she was a younger teenager. At first I didn't believe her much--I was a really nit-picky skeptic back then, much more so than I am now--so she dragged me to church one morning.....
Personally...I couldn't really tolerate the full Sunday sermon myself, never have....nothing spiritual, I was just a hyperactive, fidgety sort of kid who got *loud* when he got bored. So I was at the front of the church with some other younger kids reading and coloring in coloring books....when it happened.
Some fool had caved in to the pressure to "confess" to "sins" they didn't even have, and started babbling in "tongues". Yeah, I know, I was a bit of a wiseass as a young boy, a bit of a brainy nerd, and that was how I saw it at the time. Things got loud (as they usually do) and so I covered my ears and closed my eyes briefly because I didn't (and still don't) do well with loud noises.
My eyes opened when I smelled smoke....I saw a bit of a blurry streak that looked like a snake but was literally *flying* in a straight line for the door. It hit the door and crumbled. When it was headed out, it looked about the size of a garter snake, maybe no bigger.
When my older sister came back to report to me what was going on, she said she had seen that thing *leave* its host...when it was "driven out" it was larger, more substantial, about the size of a python.
And while I cannot be 100% certain of what I saw that day, I do remember the smell. LIke fireworks had gone off, only with something sharper--not sulfuric but more like phosphorus going off in a match. But there had been *no* firework noises going on at the time.
Needless to say, I did quite a bit more of that "staying away from churches" thing myself, as I really started to lose respect for Evangelical endeavors (and the ministers) in the years that followed. So I haven't seen any driven demons since. My sister did more of that, but became less credible as she got older, more rebellious and more into drugs....
I will say this much though. I've met a few people who have that smell. The ugly, obvious ones aren't the threat so much--you can see them coming, and outwit them.
It's the subtle ones, the ones who seem friendly until you shake their hand, a whiff of the smell hits and you realize they aren't smiling so much as they are *baring teeth* in a display of dominance. Those are the ones you need to worry about, the ones clever enough to get *close* to you.
But don't take my word for it. Read some classic literature: Robert Louis Stevenson's _The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde_ comes readily to mind here.
And yes, you need to read the *book* to get the point.
The monster, Edward Hyde....was a dwarf. He was *not* the towering monster that people made him out to be in the movies. He was after all a *piece* of the good Dr. Jekyll....just that fraction of him that was *purely evil* brought to life. He inspired fear not by size, but by way of having the "disgusting deformity" that comes from being so different, being so *purely* and single-mindedly evil.
*That* is the thing with demons. Some can be half-clever that way, and blend in better than the best adapted of your praying mantises.
I hope this helps, and remember....it's the smell, it doesn't smell *all* of sulfur, there is also a strong phosphorus scent to it too like a lit kitchen match (the old, red-tipped wooden ones).
Thanks for your time....and I am sorry if my recall is vague, some of this stuff happened when I was a kid, going into being a tweener.

I'm not sure if he was a demon... He was not from our plane of existence. I'm sure that someone at my place of employment dragged him into our plane (I work in a hospital, way too much emotion of all types). For some reason, he was attracted to me, and seemed to hover over my shoulder constantly. I wore a bracelet of red thread for a while at a friend's suggestion, and it seemed to give him the message that I didn't want to be bothered.

No, I haven't, but I know someone who had a night terror that seemed to be very real. She actually woke up and saw horrible demonic-looking entities flying around her bedroom. It was as if she was in Hell.

yes. years ago i did not know about spiritual warfare but went to a Bible study on it. We renounced many sins that night and later I saw a demon manifest. Very small, green. He wanted to hurt me but knew i was property of Jesus.
