Soldiers dying everyday in Iraq, kids being kidnapped, and our country going down the toilet--and my television screen is bombarded by pictures of a bald Britney. Why do we care so much about these dysfunctional people? These people have access to things some of us will never have access to in our lifetimes and they're so attention starved that they do the STUPIDEST things just so we can look at them and say..."gee, Britney's bald, dancing in clubs in other peoples' bikinis, getting tattoos, hangin' out with Paris with no panties, and leaving her kids with God knows who--boy, sure wish I could be like her when I grow up". I don't think so....

Most people could care less, however the news media is ramming her down our throats. It's a diversion that they commonly use in an attempt to move your thinking away from the real issues. This weekend I bought the Sunday Edition of the newspaper in the city where I live and the first 5 pages were devoted to celebrity publicity. It's just an indication of how bad things are really going. The news media thinks (hopes) that people are stupid.

i'm not britney's greatest fan,and its true that many more important issues in the world that need to be addressed - but i think she is a perfect example of how living your life through the public eye can almost destroy you - Britney is (or was) a role model for so many kids so in some ways this story is important.

Don't get so frustrated - once she gets her life sorted out, we can go back to being bombarded with the soldiers dying and all the other positive things that happen in our world - until then, I'd get used to seeing her pretty bald head all over the world!

The fascination with Britney is because she's a sex symbol, and there are plenty of guys who want to ogle her. Because of that, there are women who want to learn from her, and have guys ogling them. A lot of it is played up by the media and by the paparazzi, who refuse to leave her alone, but even if that wasn't the case, even if she was a saint, guys would still look. It's just what we do.

On the other hand, it doesn't ever stop us from also worrying about or thinking about or being concerned about other things. It's just that you can't think about the tragedies all the time. You have to keep that dandelion in the jelly jar on your desk or you'll go a little crazy.

Britney's just a bigger dandelion, and the glass jelly jar is Hollywood. And hopefully, nobody is going to go crazy.

Thank you! Personally I've heard more than enough about Brittney and Anna Nicole. We are in the midst of a brutal war that is tearing our country apart, again. And we have a significant election coming up. Can we just focus on the things that really matter?

Its less of a concerned, and more of a shock.Shock because here was a youth, successful, talented, and beautiful youth lady who is trying so hard to be different, but is actually becoming another statistic of troubled youth.Shes such a wait of all the above. That goes to her party friends as well. They gross me out.I don't see how its cool to them to show the world there crouch. There so many other thing to do with all there money and exposure, but they choice to be stuck on them self's.

My only concern is what kind of society do we live in that would elevate someone like Britney Spears to role model and where are the parents of those girls who wish so deeply to be like her. And what kind of country are we that we could take such BS like B.S. and make her rich?

I'm not concerned with her. The press keeps putting her mug in my face though. Same with Paris and that ilk. Get them out of my face. Yahoo for instance pushes that **** on me.

I'm getting sick of it!!! They should stop pumping her up. She's using it for more publicity! But I have to say I am so depressed about the news in the real world that something else in the news is refreshing at times. But that's enough about her!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Because her miserable life makes us all feel better about ours. I mean really who doesn't love to laugh at whatever stupid mess she can get herself into, after a hard day of actual work.
