Are you speaking about people from India or Native Americans? Either way it is the way their culture is set up. In America and western culture in general people are very individualist, they make decisions about what is best for them and them alone. Collectivist cultures like that of the Native American tribes and the people of India do what is best for the group as a whole. This makes it easier to band together for a common goal in times of great need. In America it is difficult because we all have different opinions because we all are looking out for number 1, ourselves.
