This is the case for most of the people who have got inner power or thirst on achievements.Happiness is a momentary one.It comes and goes. But satisfaction is something different. It comes after achieving our targets. This may be even to get a ticket for a newly released film.Satisfaction doesn't come easily.First one should understand himself. Now that is the thing you need.First understand yourself and your targets or goals. That will show you the way where you have to work and what for you have to work.Money and comfortable doesn't matter. All the best.

I always believe that we choose to be happy. We can be satisfied with a good steak or on a hot day with a tall glass of iced tea or the crispness of a cucumber but the art of being happy is in the choices we make. If you feel there is something lacking then there probably is. It is up to you to make that choice or years from now you may have your regrets. OR you can choose to be satisfied and stay where you are by realizing that all dreams don't come true and that happiness is being comfortable. To be honest you probably won't remember what you're thinking about today 10 years from now anyway. The goals you set and meet along the way determines the state of mind you're in. I say we can create our own happiness and satisfaction; the two should go hand in hand.

One of my many mantras is "always happy, never satisfied." That means I enjoy the here and now but am not complacent about looking for opportunities that I might enjoy more.
It seems you are satisfied, but not happy. If salary does not motivate your happiness, and work is a major part of your life (you can't just work for the weekend and leave it at the office), you need to find something you'd rather do. Sometimes just looking at what else is out there can make your current situation more bearable.
And watch "Office Space." It will make you happy for at least an hour and a half.

Work on your mind. Create new and better thought habits and everything else, your job situation, your level of happiness and satisfaction, and everything else in your lfie will also improve. Avoid dualistic thinking like happiness versus satisfaction. You don't have to choose between the two. You can have happiness, contentment, a great job that you love, and more.

It would be wise to determine what it is that you are not satisfied about so you can determine if that can be changed where you now work. If you changed jobs just because you don't like your job the odds are great that you won't like your new job either.
In answering your question,if it was me I wouldn't be satisfied without both, happiness and satisfaction. I hope you consider yourself deserving of both. It seems like satisfaction is a large component of happiness. I doubt that you can really have one without the other.

I don't see the difference. Happiness and satisfaction are merely the opposite methods of achieving the feel-good feeling. Happiness is adding to the feeling, and satisfaction is merely reducing whatever the hell is taking away from that feeling. Now, if i were you, i'd think about where my priorities lie and whether the job i have can help me achieve my goal.

One thing you should know is that satisfaction is more important in life. Hapiness may come and go but you should be satisfied withwhatyoudo. If you think you are not given enough chances to achieve some thing great in your job then switch over to even a small firm wher you get less take home but there you can get more oppurtinities to prove who you are.

Hello Maverick. I would say happiness is like a roller coaster type experience whilst satisfaction is more consistent, like homeostasis (steady states), and is much more foundational and anchored. I'm not real happy with my job, but I'm holding on for a purpose. I tell myself to hold on for one more day, to keep pushing, that perseverance equals payoff. Try to find something better while continuing, but as you do the job that's not liked... have something mentally that you love to draw on in times of stress. If I may, I'll leave you with one more thing: You need a relationship with God in your life. Keep pushing Maverick and good luck to you.

see my dear fren. first u need to realize what actualy happiness means 4 u! we all know that just as perceptions vary for all of us, same way attaintment of happiness is diffrent for each of us. its forms are diferent...1 may attain happiness in the dark and the other in light.
that's why realize what actually gives u happiness. u said that something is lackin but u don't know what actually it is.
this is actually ur innerbeing that is not being satisfied. happiness and satisfaction goes hand in hand. u'll be hapy only when u r satisfied.
so if u feel that u are unable to satisfy ur innerbeing or in other words ur soul then leave the job.

Sorry to intrude, but if I may ask

Have you made peace with God?
Jesus is the answer. He can and will fill your life with joy, peace and much more
We tend to provide for our physical and mental need at the neglect of our spiritual health.
Read 1 John 14: 6 (New Testament)
A la grace de Dieu,

P.S.: I am sorry Gira but I believe that it's the other way around. satisfaction lead to happiness. If you are content with who you are, what you have, you will be happy.
But human beings do not have it in them to be satisfied. that's why they are always seeking after something.
Unless you realize that you need the love of God to dwell in your life, one will never truly find happiness.
