I do not know, it seems that they would consider presenting information that mattered rather than catering to the tabloid mentality.

Honey they are celebrities and that is what they do, unfortunately, some of their bad behavior hits the news media also and I think that should be avoided. Anna's death is a tragedy and who the heck cares if Britney cuts her hair. I mean really, she needs to take care of the children she was blessed with.

because the media wants to draw our attention from the serious things that are accualyy going on around us. they down play what is really going on in the world so that the world can keep going. this is the medias control. that is why when you turn on the news the first thing you here is anna nicole smiths death and the 6th or 7th thing you here is how they are sending more troops to die.

I think it's kinda like when they show a car chase on the news. You know it's gonna end ugly, but how do you not look at it? And the media counts on that. That's how they get their ratings, and subsequently more advertisers. Sadly, it always seems to come down to the almighty dollar, way above human suffering.

There is so much to learn from these tragic stories. I hope kids see that Britney has all this money but she's still miserable and she need to get help A.S.A.P. !!! Anna needed help to but she never got it. Don't abuse prescription drugs and if your depressed get help. And don't surround yourself with yes people. People that will only tell you what you want to hear, we all need counsel and help from time to time. Let this serve as a warning to all out there.

because they're stupid and stupid people like us like seeing that stuff on the news so people watch it more and the news stations make more $. I mean we know more about what Britney Spears is doing at the moment than what's going on around the world...

Beats me. Death, anyone's is news, but the hashing and re-hashing of the same information is a bit on the sick side. The bald things, who knows? It doesn't fascinate me.

The answer is twofold. First, the media constantly need filler. Second, people are sheep and they'd rather be entertained than educated.

The ratings is what makes the money for the tabloids and it will never stop as long as the paparazzi's have their camera's rolling lights camera action have a nice day.

Just an elevated level of gossip. And so if it sells its news worthy to them. and they know how people always want to hear the negatives about celebrities so that it validates them as people like them
