gigi darlin',
there are a lot of different things that could be the cause of something like this--- and, a number of those causes could be none of the fault of the person that is having the hard time learning !! There is the possibility that the person is needing a teacher or someone who can better explain the subject matter to them---- the person could be having other problems in their life that make it hard to concentrate ---- OR---- the things that this new subject is based on wasn't fully explained or taught to the individual so that they are working with the new subject using information that should be foundations for it--- that is simply not there because THAT wasn't taught to them properly !!

So, don't go off thinking or saying "what could possibly be wrong with them" as if that was a definate thing---- there may very easily be nothing wrong with THEM at all---- it could be that something has been done wrong TO them by some situation or circumstance !!!
Best thing here--- get with someone--- like a councellor--- who will be ready willing and able to help you analyse what is going on here and get a plan together to get you under way and making progress before you are even THAT much farther behind--- if the person knows what THEY'RE doing -- they will find what it is going to take to get you up to speed and into a paced and patterned method of results that starts a progress thing for you to get this all balanced and settled-------one thing here------don't ever doubt yourself--- if you truly have a desire to learn and progress -- you'll acheive this --- there is no doubt !!!

The Best of Luck to You----Now Go Get Some Help getting this on the right path !!!

It's called "performance anxiety". You are putting yourself under the same stress that was put on you when you were younger. Just remember all the things you have learned and how well you recall them then give yourself permission not to be perfect. Try visualization, read a paragraph close your eyes and see the same soon you it will be automatic. My best.
