True. All sterols are lipids. But not not all lipids are sterols (e.g. triacylglycerol)

Sterols are a subgroup of steroids .
They are amphipathic lipids synthetised from acetyl-co A.

Examples are cholesterol, phytosterols, and steroid hormones

Sterols can also help block cholesterol absorption sites in the intestines .
