This site www.freecycle.org has a search engine that allows you to put in your city and the type of item you want. I put in seattle, WA and lego, for example, and came up with someone offering two garbage bags full of Mega Blocks free to anyone who is willing to pick them up.

YOU SHOULD TRY SOME YAHOO GROUPS. IN OHIO THEY HAVE A GROUP CALLED "FREE CYCLE" WHERE PEOPLE POST THINGS THAT THEY ARE GIVING AWAY. YOU SHOULD TRY IT AND SEE IF THERE IS A GROUP LIKE THAT IN YOUR AREA.
