A Master's can usually be done in 2 years and 39 credit hours. In graduate school, 9 credit hours is considered full time (as opposed to 12 in undergraduate school), and there usually aren't many summer classes. So 9 credits TIMES 2 semesters in a year is 18 credit hours for the first year. ADD 18 credit hours for the second year and you get 36 credit hours, plus a 3 credit hour internship/thesis.
= 39 credit hours
As with anything, it depends on how many classes you take and how quickly you get things done. It could take ~3-5 years for a bachelor's degree and an additional ~1-3 for a Master's, just depends. So total is ~4-8 years, with the average being about 6, lower than average being 5 and a little bit longer than average being 7 years to complete.

Five years if you take 15 units per semester --- four years for the B.A. or B.S.\ with an additional year to secure your masters. Do your self a favor and try not to look at it that way though. Just do the work one semester or one quarter at a time. If you have to -- do it one class in the summer months at a time. Please believe me --- it doesn't take a ton of brains to graduate from college (university). What it takes is perseverance. Good Luck and God Bless You.

It took me two years, enrolled full time and summers (37 credit hours in English at Emporia State University in Kansas).
EDIT: If it helps you any, I was enrolled from August 12, 2000 to May 26th, 2002. I didn't do a minor. I wrote a 65 page thesis (longer than required). So, anyone who thinks I'm wrong, I have copies of my transcript, and I'll be glad to show you.
