I'm from the same part of MS/LA that she's from, and I can tell ya that you can take the girl out of the trailer, but you can't take the trailer out of the girl. What she's going through is so common here. I'd go into the whole paternalistic system she's been raised under, where girls are supposed to obey their elders (usually men) and in her case, her agent and manager (and b to the itchy mom), but I won't bore y'all with redneck psychoanalysis.

Britney's concocted some bullcrap excuse for shaving her head--says it was a tribute to her aunt who died with cancer. What I think, though, is that Felicia's letter to Ruben at That Other Blog knocked Britney for a loop. When Felica (her former personal assistant and as close to a parent or big sis as Britney has ever had) disowned her in a very public way, then the pop princess popped a brain vessel.

In this part of Mississippi, coming of age equals gettin' hitched, popping out a couple of babies, then regretting the marriage and babies, and hitting the local bars to express one's liberation, only to find one's self preggers by some dude named Larry, with whom one got it on on the bench seat of a dually in a honky tonk parking lot. Then comes regret, maybe a suicide attempt, and then the rediscovery of Jesus.

That's life in this part of the south. Britney hasn't strayed too far from her roots, sad to say. As much as I hate this euphemism, "white trash" pretty much describes Britney, and she ain't much different from where she hailed. (I've seen this type of self-destruction time and time again. I avoided it by getting an ejucashun--the most dangerous thing in the deep MissLou south is an educated woman. But you won't find me doing the electric slide on the back seat of a Bonneville on Saturday night, nor repentant on Sunday morning. :-) )

Hmm....taking this a bit differently than what my first impulse would ("did she have any in the first place?").

On second thought...like others have said, it does seem that she still has care hired for her kids, that they're okay for the time being so...I'll go out on a limb here.

She hasn't lost *all* of her marbles....just her *shooters*. The Big ones you use to play the game with. You know, knocking as many marbles in a row out of the circle as possible...

That. She's lost sight of what got her in the game and got her where she is in the first place. Yes, her looks are a part of the equation, but honestly....it's more about perspective. Her former peer in Pop-Princessness, Christina Aguilera, was still able to function and make *hit albums* just fine in spite of deliberately getting the tats, piercings, and generally making herself look fugly.

But then again, Aguilera still knew who she was. She knew she wasn't going to *cure cancer* or anything even remotely that special. She knew she was still a musician, ok? *That* is the problem with Britney....she's been so busy being Miss B.S., so to speak, and then trying to be a baby momma, that she's forgotten, really, at the end of the day, *she's a freakin' Pop Singer*, and pop singers come and go....

As harsh as it sounds. Ms. Spears just needs to suck it down, take care of her business *and her kids*, and get herself back to work, before she finds herself becoming a twisted mockery of herself like Michael Jackson did. I mean, it isn't like she has nothing left to work with....she's rich, still has friends and connections.

Hence the Media Frenzy. People like to jump on "the one who has the whole world in their hand, and then blows it all off". The Media would much rather tell the story of an incorrigible screw-up who didn't deserve to be a Pop Princess worth *millions*, than they would the story of someone who "made some honest mistakes and then cleaned up her act". The former story, whether it's true or not, just has more "shock and awe" in it, and "sells more papers". The latter would be on the back page.

But yeah. Perspective. She still has marbles left, she's just forgotten her shooters, (or how to actually *play* marbles). She's just forgotten what brought her to the dance.

No, I think she's just going through a phase of life. She just got a divorce and I think she's just going through a phase of being single. She got married and had kids at a young age. Now I think she's just trying to have a little fun. Plus she's rich so I guess she has a nannie to probably take care of the kids. The media is really over rating what she does. A lot of people shave their heads and get tatoos, but do they put it on the news. No. There is no difference. She's human just like everybody else. You know what I mean.

You can't help but feel bad for her, though. Shes had such a hard life. The reason for it all, (her words), was "i don't want any one touching me. I'm tired of people touching me." I don't really know how that links to shaving her head and getting a cute tatoo, but you can kind of see how hard shes taking everything right now. She has no husband, two unsucessful marriages, two baby boys, and paparazzi stalking her every move. She really is taking it hard.

Uhhh yeah what is that girls problem. I know she lost her LOSER of a husband and had two kids but come on take a shower put on some makeup and for gods sakes dont shave your head! I think she just needs to move back home and become NORMAL again!
