My periods are like clock work, I have never had an abnormal period, they always last for 5 days. Iv never felt anything like this before. They suddenly came on, then suddenly diseapeared. The bleeding was lighter than normal. Im not on the pill, we rely on condoms. Iv had a headache for 4 days now, been feeling sick and have had a sore back.

Implantation bleeding occurs around 10 days after you ovulate if conception occurred. To figure out when you ovulated, count back 14 days from the time you expected your period to start. There is about a 3-4 day window that you are fertile, a few days before and the day of ovulation. If you had sex during that time you could be pregnant. A headache and backache could be signs of pregnancy, but they could also be pms or nothing related to this at all. The only thing you can really do is wait and take a test. Sometimes though hormones and cycles get off course and stuff like this happens. If you continue to be worried about it go see your Dr. and see what they have to say.

As an Ultrasonographer for 11 years , let me tell you right off the bat that yes it is possible it could be implantation...however , without a pregnancy test , there is no way of knowing for sure.

It could also be something as simple as when you ovulated mid cycle , the follicle itself had a bit of blood in it . EVERY woman gets a cyst every month. this is called a follicle, and that is where the egg matures . This follicle ruptures , which is why many women have mid cycle pain , and releases the egg. In some cases when the follicle releases the ovum , it causes a bit of bleeding. because there was some bleeding you can have back pain , and even hormonal fluctuations that can cause headaches . Woman can go years and years with no problems , and then have an episode like this . ..and then might NEVER have another!

The best advice? ...wait a week and take a test , or if you're really concerned have your Dr. do a simple blood test called a BetaHCG. This test can detect a preganancy as early as a week after conception ...sometimes even days after.

Good luck!

Ella,

The best way to get to the bottom of this is to see a physician. Where your body is concerned - you should not take chances.
