We decided that he didn't travel back in time. They actually just showed a flashback of Desmond before he got to the island. He fell off the ladder in his apartment while painting and he got some head injury that helps him see things in the future. That theory seemed to make the most sense to my friends and I. We'll see!

yeah last week's episode was a real mind f***. I was more confused than ever when the episode was over. Note that last week was the week the writers were on here looking for plot theories from people too. Desmond's "experience" kind of had me leaning to the "it's all a dream" theory. Who knows guess we gotta keep watching.
